A couple of buildings on that list are Monolithic Domes ( http://www.monolithic.com/ ), including Dome of a Home, which survived a hurricane that wiped out all the homes near it, while sheltering a news crew. They're the only near-disaster-impervious buildings in financial reach of ordinary home-builders (costs a bit less than 15% more to build than a regular house, IIRC).
