Aug. 2nd, 2011 12:59 pmRemind me again why I wanted to use real physics?
I just sat all my characters down to do a briefing and my physics-for-dummies wormhole network and near light speed travel turned into plot instead of just how you get to plot. And it's not like I understood it very well to start with. Now my characters, who are supposed to understand it, have to explain it to a newbie.
I either have to stop and get a physics degree or say bollocks to it and call everything I write correct for this universe from here on out.
:-p
... it is very interesting physics though. I always like the bit where people can have had different lengths of time since The Big Deal Event. Time travel where you monkey with paradox is all very well, but time travel where not everyone knows the war is over is all KABOOM when you least expect it.
If I'd just had them bouncing around the solar system the story couldn't happen that way.
Their motivations are all tied up with how this travel thing works.
Right. Either get a new 'verse or say I'm the omniscient creator of this 'verse.
... not a tough one, twenty thousand words in.
