I finished playing the fashion game
and then I started again at the beginning
and that was my day.

took about 12 hours the second time.

my mouse hand has ouching now.

*facepalm*

So, now I can't play it again without actually buying it. And since I've played it through twice, buying it would be silly. So I'm probably not going to.
But I liked it plenty so I could buy it just to go yaay make more like that.

I was thinking how Risha is a feminist hero. She does all the jobs and directs movies and spoke to another woman director in this game and she starts shops and just does whatever she wants to. and in this game there were rival designers but instead of like in blow things up games where There Can Be Only One she just gradually made friends with everyone and they sent her customers they couldn't fit clothes for and the grand finale of the game is her arch rival trying on her clothes and deciding they're the most comfy things ever and they're friends now. Also there's a romance subplot but that only gets as far as a second date. Mostly the game is about the working. And there's lots of talking to women. Is all good stuffs.

I was also thinking, why am I more embarrassed to play little clicky selling things games than the sort you buy on big DVDs with all the graphics and the shooting? I don't think there's any good reason. There's niggly stupid reasons, possibly to do with how girly isn't considered a good word.

I like these Sandlot games. I liked the Tradewinds games especially. Half the characters are women and there's plots like having to bring your kids along while trading because their dad ran off. And there's a mini quest where someone wants to buy parts for a big spell to tell them what entertainment would work best and it tells them maybe they should do things that women would like too. So the games know what they're doing. Lots of little ways and some big ways they have women going around being awesome.

There's lots of mystery games and entrepreneur games that have women as the main characters. If there's building or selling or hidden objects in a fantasy land then it's very often female characters. ... if they aren't I probably don't try that game, there's enough games to do that.

I don't have any big thoughts about that, I just noticed it's cool. If I want a book or a DVD where I get to be a hero, I have to hunt them out. Clicky little games? Bazillions of them all over the place. Is cool.

Right. Time to declare today Done and go sleep. And hope tomorrow has actual productive thinking in it.
