I skipped the shoes one. I'm fairly sure I've skipped the shoes one ever since first broadcast.

Being bored of Gwen makes watching a bit difficult. No, I'm not just bored of Gwen, she actively winds me up now. And Suzie was so whiny. Also, having someone say how brilliant Gwen is and how much better she is and blah blah yadda, when I can't remember a single useful thing Gwen has done all season? Not making me like the woman more. Also also, why the hell wasn't she fired after the Suzie thing? Jack even says he'd fire her. Jack's kind of a useless boss.

So anyway, it was less interesting than I remember, the Suzie story.

Also the stopwatch conversation works best without the sound. Because then they're doing cute stuff with their eyes and the smiling. The words however aren't big with the sense making.

I was half way through Out of Time when I realised I'm just not in the mood for watching today.
So I was bored by the Gwen bits, though amused by the Rhys bits, and there's quite a lot of Gwen.
Owen makes more sense if he's all the time scared and sort of flailing. He seems younger on this rewatch. Possibly because I got older. But he don't seem like he ever really got his balance. Also I don't reckon he ever understood Diane. Artificial insemination and pretty dresses are his answers? Contraceptives and women as military pilots are more her speed. They're dancing through different stories somehow.
The Jack thread sort of wrecks me. I used to be more upset with him because he's meant to be the Captain, but he's just too damaged sometimes. He did all wrong, but it's so easy to see why. :-(
Ianto was cute but not very integrated in the story, and Tosh was barely there.
Whenever I watch this one I have to stop afterwards and rewrite everyone's endings.
But it's because these characters at this time would only have those endings, and they need telling different things and getting some perspective from outside Torchwood. Getting appropriate psychiatric help even.
So, well written, but difficult to watch in parts, and the less I like Gwen the less balanced the whole thing feels.

It's also a bit hard to like Gwen when you like Rhys.

Torchwood season 1 has a lot of times nobody looks good but it's sprinkled with shiny times for everyone.
... when was Gwen's?
... and why am I so sulkily against her this time, when she were fine other times I watched?
