Torchwood season 1
Apr. 10th, 2012 07:07 pmI finished rewatching Torchwood season 1.
I have nothing new to say about it, because it is as I watched over and over already. Is still good.
Captain Jack Harkness <3
Though still Toshiko's plans are not quite with the sense making.
Mostly though just all the <3 <3 <3
End of Days... much as I love watching everyone fall apart, and the tearful reunions at the end, the bit in the middle withthe chewitt monster Abaddon is just impossible to take seriously. Also I tend to LOL when Jack gets shot because he has such surprise face on. I mean it ought to be dramatic, but since we know he'll be back it's just road runner, and he's funny cause he's shocked.
Jack/Ianto <3
Ianto gets ever younger though. Relatively. And then I feel old.
Owen... I really can't figure out why he still has a job at the end. Mind, I can't figure out why Gwen has a job for most if not all of the season. But Owen has just been super special. I mean, I'm fairly sure shooting your boss is a firing offence. But Jack's management skillz are super special too, and apparently he likes being the one that gets to forgive people, so hey, no problem.
Fun as Torchwood are to watch, they're a bunch of bad guys who screw up a lot and, if time worked the way it does all the rest of the times, got a seriously large number of people killed. Which makes for interesting story, but makes Children of Earth make much more sense from the government's point of view.
I like Torchwood as television, but if these are the people one must rely on to save the earth, there is only fear and *facepalm*.
Still, it's ridiculous how much time I spend with them in my head, half a decade later.
