For definitions of 'we' that took A levels, didn't need to retake them, wasn't a mature student, didn't have a job at the time, didn't need to get a job straight away, and was heading for university.

I did get some time off - and I had a boyfriend to share it with from June, which was nice - but most of my memories of the time between my A levels and starting nursing in the October are of my mum spiralling into depression because her only sister was dying. Not a nice way to spend 4-5 months.
Yeah, the grauniad has a predictable demographic.
