College enrolment achieved
Sep. 4th, 2012 04:17 pmWell, basically achieved. I turned up, discovered as expected the computer didn't know I continue to attend and can't be persuaded to admit I'm going to lessons this year, filled in a bunch of paperwork by hand, and was assured we can sort out the finances later. So I'm sure that'll be fine.
:eyeroll:
Honestly, I'd fuss more but this happens every single year, and I've been attending since 2002.
The admin lady was impressed at my student number being so low. That is a very old number. Very.
I got a new student card so the library should work again, and I asked about my UEA card but they said the UEA will automatically send more cards out for this year's students. Which I will believe when I see, and until then my UEA login doesn't bloody work and even if I had been inclined to work on my dissertation over the summer (which I should have been) I couldn't have taken books out anyway.
I tried working on my books to read list, which is frankly a mess even if it did be the only bit to get decent percents in diss prep, but the stupid library computer wouldn't save it.
So I gave up.
I was going to just go home but the bus into the city center pulled up exactly when I got to the stop, which is like an I Dare You from the universe. I accidental tried to use my expired disabled people travel card to get the ticket. I remember it ran out, but my catch the bus routine does not remember. Bus routine is expensive without the card. Well, something like £7.70 for the day, return ticket from home and ticket into shops. That might not be expensive for most people. I don't spend much money usually.
Today I spent quite a lot of money though. I went to the bookshop and they had SEQUELS. ALL the sequels. :-D
... I had to put some back because if I can't carry it I can't buy it. Not all at once anyway. My new route to lessons will take me right past the bookshop and the other bookshop and the magic bookshop anyway.
... my book budget for this semester is maybe going to be a bit more than usual.
So I got books and went and waited approximately 29 minutes for the every 30 minutes bus. *sigh*
And then I was home.
Next I need to learn where the stupid lessons are. On feet and looking, I know the name of it. Employee will help with that.
And I need to contact my tutor. my previous years tutor has said to CC her on any emails to him and she'll make him actually answer one. So that'll be nice.
But I have a Plan where I lurk after lesson on Monday and catch him when he arrives to teach the next class. I did those lessons last year, but if I find him in person, he has much less excuses for not replying.
Also that gives me a week to have an idea.
... any. even a small one...
