It takes a very long time to do a transcript. A Very Long Time. Even starting with subtitles or with someone else's work and checking it takes a long time if you want to be sure. I'm only finding differences like 'but' or '(be)Cos' most of the time, but once there was design/divine, so there could be any other words muddled. And then I type what people are doing if it's important for understanding, and what the camera and colors and lights are doing if they're important for analysis, and then I rewatch things a few times and write down what people are doing with their face (if I can figure it out, or 'they do something complex with their face' if I can't), and sometimes I need to write down what signs say or what is on screens (which sometimes involves looking up molecular structures, cause I wondered if they'd used caffeine or chocolate to look science-y in that screen with Melody Pond DNA, but I can't really tell anyway). Sometimes there are neat and interesting sound effects. There are three distinct zap noises used for teleporting in three different species. I checked. With my ears. Repeatedly. Because clearly that will ever be relevant.

I could just be using someone else's transcript and get on with things!
... wait, that would require having things to get on with.

... so I guess this is a good plan to feel busy on dissertation related work...

I need to go to two different libraries that will require taking a minimum of 4 different buses and walking a bunch. Or, possibly, hoping my employee will actually be employable on Thursday evening, finding out the library times and my dance lesson times, and making it all fit in. I strongly suspect the latter plan will not work out, but I'm not getting there on my own two feet at the moment. I know I can get to CCN library alone but after that is the complicated journey. Maybe I can just uncomplicate it and say they're different trips on different days? That doesn't actually sound simpler.

CCN library Thursday 8.15am to 8pm
Dance lessons, Tuckswood, 7.30pm to 8.30pm. (but cancelled tonight due to weather, so check Thursday)
UEA library building open Saturday 5 January - Tuesday 26 March 24 hours a day, valid library card needed to get in late at night.

They're all in Norwich but they're three different bits and for me they're a bus ride away from both each other and the bus station. Actually they need to go to the station and out again, there's no direct bus I know of. Google says the Costessey park and ride 604 stops at Town Close Road and goes to UEA, but I've stood at Town Close Road a lot and often, and can't recall a green bus stopping there. Neither can I make any website that promises to tell me the park and ride routes actually do so. So that doesn't seem like a good bet. I'll probably have to go up St Stephens and out again. I know how, is just many buses that way.
And some of the buses stop at night so if I'm going on my own then daytimes is better.

And? Importantly? I need to have something (anything) to hand in in about 12 days, just as a progression point. And I'm not sure how relevant anything I've done so far is to anything. And I've only been reading.

Getting the actual books I actually wanted at the UEA would really really help.

Also helpful is me currently being closer to daytime dwelling. Woke up at 0315, that leaves me awake through a bunch of daylight.

Okay, this is all doable, I should stop flapping and get back to typing stuff.
... even if it's random stuff.
... argh.
