There's never anything right to say. One day people are doing work you love and being fun at conventions and signings and things and then it's just The End. Death is stupid and annoying and there's never anything to say because it's the end of all the saying.
It's weird when everyone gets sad at once. On the one hand it's bad because everyone you know is sad of the same thing. On the other hand, the guy made an impression.
