Just finished watching Truth and Consequences
This show is less fun than it used to be.
First, diversity: They've done that thing where random people or any new character is pretty much going to be a white guy. So the black Ash got replaced with a white guy, who spends a while being arguably evil, so maybe they did it on purpose so they could make him creepy and then off him, but still, black guy in charge replaced by white guy. And then Bo's new boyfriend, random white guy. Also kind of a creep. (She likes him but doesn't like that she likes him. :eyeroll: ) And Lauren's girlfriend woke up, so the whole Bo/Lauren thing is absent a lot, and then this episode Bo kills Lauren's girlfriend, and now it's just creepy. like, dead girlfriends to make people have a feelings is bad, dead lesbian girlfriends is bad enough I'm sitting here recalculating my desire to watch the last three episodes.
This is just boring.
Dyson has been boring. Like he's spent a whole season being :-( because he can't love anyone cause he gave it up to protect Bo. And okay, that's something worth being sad and grumpy and all the rest about, but he's been like that a while now, and as a plot thread it's kind of done. Also, giving up the capacity for passionate romantic love shouldn't mean no love at all, and he's just turned into a grump who doesn't seem to like anyone lately, so that's just him.
Hale is cool. Him and his family have turned out much interesting this season. That I like.
But aside from him they're all being stupid. Like, the big bad this year is the Garuda, which feeds on hate and making people backstabby. So how do team good guys respond? Getting all backstabby! You can't fix things by only killing the right people. Bo's whole power is make love not war, she's like the anti-Garuda, the way to make her stronger and hence team survival stronger is to be all loving and connected. Instead people are trying to send each other away for their own good.
And now with the killing girlfriends?
All bad. And I know it's the part of the season when things get worst. But do I want to watch them be worst? They're being stupid.
Also, the dead girlfriend lady was ill, like blackouts and self harm turning into blackouts and violence against others. So they're basically treating mental illness with a good being killed. Again. Despite Lauren being the science and medical one who spent five years looking for a cure for the last ill this lady had. This time she treats it by begging Bo to kill her? When she had a syringe full of cure earlier in the same episode that she never got to try on her? It doesn't even vaguely make sense! Angst woe is more important than sense now? Boo. Stupid.
So everyone's being stupid and it's lasting a really long time and I don't know if I can trust the show to fix it in the last three episodes, and that one lady's death is very unlikely to get fixed, and I'm really annoyed about it.
So I'm a bit fed up of this show right now and I've turned it off for the night.
... I'm pretty sure I'll watch the last three because I even finish watching shows I hate, and I don't hate this one, but it's being stupid and annoying so I'm going to sulk at it for a while instead.
