weather gets hotter, dreams get weirder. personally I could live without quite so many nightmares in one scenario.

I dreamed Steve Rogers was badly beat up and I had to rescue him from the computer rooms of the boarding school I was at when I was 8. If we went down the stairs one floor there was a fire exit, but I warned Steve we couldn't get out that way, so we went up instead. ... those stupid stairs have had the most nightmares up them. We weren't allowed up them. Logically I know the only thing up there was a perfectly normal fire escape and the boys dormitories, but still, nightmares. :eyeroll:

So there were, in the dream, 12 (Steve said 13, I said 12 and a roof) stories. I don't remember all of them. 8 was marked "I Obey" on the door to the stairs, and from behind it came Dalek noises. The floors got worse as we went up. I wasn't willing to go any higher than 11. 11 was made of bees. It wasn't that there were bees in the walls, the walls were made by and of bees. Honey walls, moving. I was relatively fine with that, compared to whatever was on 12 and 13, I just told Steve to move slow and careful and mind where he put his hand to open the doors (because even walls made by bees have doors?), but Steve tried tiptoes and snuck up to the first door and reached out slowly and got like three bees crawling up his hand minding their own business and just noped right out of there. Nuh uh, no bees for mes. He decided to try and get out elsewhere.

He was going to keep going up. I had warned him not to keep going up.
You couldn't get in the door to 12 at all, it only let people out. Who would come out of it? Kids who'd been up to 13 and hadn't made it out.
The door swung open and a perfectly normal 12 year old stepped out. He blinked at us. He had very dark eyes. Very very dark eyes. As his eyes opened wider they got more and more dark, until they were OO and just holes in the mask of flesh around them and kept. Getting. Bigger.

Even Steve no fear Rogers followed me as we ran back down the stairs to 10.

I don't remember all the floors. We tried to skip some but could not get out. I kept getting separated from Steve and had to use my psychic invisibility to survive, but psychic invisibility (like the spell 'insignificance') only works if you do and think nearly nothing, so the running and mental chorus of I'mgonnadie kind of screwed it over a lot. The Dalek nearly got me. I wasn't even sure it could work on a Dalek mutant, but thankfully if it had a brain it would work eventually. ... bees do not have sufficient brain. I could not Insignificance at the swarm. *shudders*

Luckily floor 9 led out onto a complex road junction on a hill with multiple layers of overpass, hence being level with the 9th floor. We just had to follow the off ramp down until we got to the ground and the rail station. By that point Steve couldn't run any more, but that meant he clung to me while I carried him, so that was fine by me.

... dream people are significantly lighter.

So after we escaped and I woke up and determined it was far too early to call it awake and stayed in bed trying to rewrite the dream, I fell asleep and had merely been filming all that previous, for a Marvel universe TV show. This involved meeting many pretty actors. There was a Leverage xover and the OT3 was there. That was much, much nicer dream.

It also featured Audrey Nathan the cellist, only in the dream she was a cellist kind of like Rodney McKay is a pianist, because music is maths and maths is music, only no one told her she didn't have the passion to be the best, so physics was the career that took a back seat. After what happened to her in Agents of SHIELD she wanted to understand Darkforce more than she wanted to stay with the symphony, so she was running experiments with weird materials and very bright lights. This was because the episode turned out to be her origin story. Instead of just being a nice lady who fancied the white knight who rescued her, she got superpowers from being caught by the Darkforce / gamma light explosion, and could be her own hero. She got lots of that super bright light in the face, and I guessed her power might involve optic blasts, but didn't know yet.

... I feel this is a very good direction for future character development, only the physics thing isn't necessary, artist superhero works real well for Steve. She'd understand changing frequencies as tunes, it would be cool.

... it's not that there's anything wrong with being a nice lady who needs rescuing. She has her own music thing going on, her life isn't all about a guy, just her story. I'm kind of less impressed that Coulson is a guy who falls for the damsel, but *shrugs* he likes to look after, fair enough.

... okay, no, I feel there's plenty wrong with the lady only being the one who needs rescuing, because I feel like we've had that story a bazillion zillion times now.

A superhero origin story for a woman? Even Pepper maybe didn't get that, if Tony 'fixed' her the wrong way. So we should have more of that.

The dream wrapped up with Christian Kane kissing me and giving me his number, so that was a fairly successful fix it sleep.

I look forward to the kind of sleep that doesn't need me to get some sleep immediately after.
