After several stories with Charley mind controlled into marriage, this one moves on to mind controlled into forced breeding, and also being turned into a giant bug queen.

I'd be disgusted but I'm too tired.

She probably only nearly gets made a bug queen, with the mind control and physical transformation but probably not actual egg making or precursors thereto. She gets rescued and cured in the end, and apparently forgets the whole thing, and I can't figure out if that makes it even creepier. She just gets removed from her own story a lot.

Also, given that the previous story had her talking about and eventually giving up on her dreams of having a daughter one day, there should be a bit of character mileage in having a whole brood of egg children, even possibly hybrid aliens, especially after being told off earlier in the story for being all eeew about how different C'rizz looks. Loving her new mind controlled bug 'children' and leading them into becoming kinder gentler Kromon would be a Charley focused story. Bit difficult to put back in the box at the end, granted, probably wouldn't suit, just an idea. As it is they spent two stories in a row making parenthood as creepy as possible, which, really, is just issues all over the place.

There was also another woman controlled and transformed in the same way, but her boyfriend returned and killed her. The TARDIS wiki uses the phrasing 'was forced to kill', but given that the condition turned out to be curable I rather thought the whole point was that he was not in fact forced and should not in fact have done it, despite spending so much time repeating there was no other way. However I think the Doctor never sat down and flat out said that, so, apparently people can read it the other way.

She did ask him to kill her, pretty much, though rather by definition she was very drugged at the time, but it just gets super ugly when you think about it in terms of a boyfriend's response to a woman being raped. Killing her would be utterly wrong if it were stripped of the sci fi trappings. Adding the bug transformation just makes the victim look like her assailants while she's forced to make eggs for them. Treating that with killing her? It's evil. And the story could make that a whole lot clearer.

But the story treated the whole thing as something that happened to C'rizz and the Doctor. Their women were hurt, so the story followed the men around as they had bad feelings and fought to 'free' or save them.

I am so epically sick of that.

And if the most important thing to know about the new character, the way to introduce him, is to tell this story? I don't want to know him at all.
