Cameron's plan to stop benefits for people with treatable conditions who are not getting treatment scare the hell out of me.
For a start he seems to have conflated treatable and curable.

Even with obesity it is not that simple. My gran had problems with her weight that went with problems with her mobility, and when they figured out a diet plan for her they reckoned even if she stuck to it perfectly for the rest of her life she wouldn't lose hardly any weight. That's not uncommon, that weight and mobility are a feedback loop with no viable way out. And what treatment does he believe exists anyway? It's just exercise and diet. Is the state going to look at your plate every day now? Are they going to track how far you walk?
And then there's addiction. Lord knows we all hope addicts get suitable support to recover, but the odds can get grim. And is he aware of what some of that treatment is? Going to religious meetings is a common one. Is the state mandating religion now?
And what of people who have already tried the treatments, and they know they don't bloody work? What about people who, with their healthcare professionals, have weighed up the side effects and decided they're healthier on balance without pushing? The ones where, after everything, this is as good as it gets?
And all of that is assuming that there is treatment available. Last time I asked for all the help please now please urgently, I waited between August and the next May to even begin treatment, which was the same CBT I'd done before and before and was about as useful as usual. Well, no, she was quite helpful, she helped with applying for the mortgage. But if that's what they do for people asking for all the help, how the hell is someone to manage when they're worse off?
And if they have to wait to get benefits as long as they have to wait to get treatment, people are going to starve.

I know it's pre election flag waving designed to appeal to their core voters who are all absolutely sure that they, personally, will never have such problems and that everyone who does brought it on themselves, but what if they win again? Counterfactuals will run policy again.

I tried to read beyond the headlines but they keep lying and lying and lying, and there's never any bad consequences for them for lying, and they use it to stir up their voters so it is in fact working rather in their favour.

They scare me. They'll stand their waving their big policy ideas around and let people die. That's what their proposals really mean, leaving people to starve to death. More people. It's already happened.

I've always thought that voters on the Right assume the best will happen to them, and voters on the Left realise that the worst could happen.

Cameron is terrifying he makes me angry when I see his stupid evil face.
