Jun. 2nd, 2015 06:27 pmI started reading The City and The City and realised if it were a TV show I'd have turned off in the teaser. It kicks off with a naked dead woman. That's always unpromising. Like, the start of anything is giving you a promise on what the rest of it is going to find interesting, and apparently that means dead woman.
I remain bored so far. I'm waiting for anything to happen. The worldbuilding seems like Neverwhere without the... interesting, in that there's two worlds that interpenetrate but don't see each other, but if it's doing anything metaphor with it I'm not grokking it.
On the other hand I've run the dishwasher and the laundry and done the vacuuming and the only task of the day still left unfinished is my daily 1000 words. Don't know what they'll be. My dragon story stalled when I went to see Age of Ultron and the computer stopped. I have it back now but haven't got back in to writing it. Should probably do that. More interesting.
