I'm continuing my rewatch of last year's Doctor Who and I hit two in a row I actually liked. The one with the Orient Express and the one with the graffiti. Interesting, inventive, good characters, the Doctor and Clara acting at least neutral to each other through much of the episode, and saving the world with clever and teamwork. All the good stuff.

So then I realised that the episode after that was the one and only episode I've ever stopped watching in the middle, and now I'm pondering if I really need to ever watch it again. I mean, if I don't, I'll never be quite sure I wasn't just having an extremely annoyed day, but if I recall the plot correctly there was a lot to be annoyed about, so.

I am getting very tired of dead black men. And dead people of colour in general. Especially when the utterly obnoxious white guy survives and you just wonder what thought process goes on that leads to such a high percentage of deaths on the one side and not the other.

... I have to either watch with filters on so I don't get enraged by stuff, or not watch at all. This is not best fun.

If you're talking about the episode I'm thinking of, I think the death happens at the very end. Oddly enough, the character gets an interesting plot after he's dead. I found the two parter that ended the season off putting and not something that I wanted to watch, but that character does get agency even though he's dead. It's kind of weird.

I'm not saying that you'll necessarily enjoy the end of the season. It went too far into horror for me, but most Doctor Who does. I generally only watch because my husband wants to. That makes it hard for me to evaluate episodes because I'm generally trying to focus on something else while they're on.

If you have access, I much preferred The Sarah Jane Adventures. They're gentler and have a more diverse cast.
