Shiny things!

beccaelizabethShiny thing the first, a diamante over the door set of hooks for hanging stuff up, has arrived from Monday's order :-)
It arrived at 0840 with knocking on the door. I forgot the random people arriving at random times aspect of online ordering from not-supermarkets. It is not optimal.
There needs to be a way to put in the delivery notes DO NOT LEAVE IT IN THE HALL. Because things left in the hall vanish in very short order. Probably not in the time it takes for me to get dressed, but you never know. Royal Mail are good though, they waited long enough I could say 'just a minute' and then actually get the door, and it wasn't signed for or anything.
It was also wrapped in a bit of bubble wrap with a black probably bin bag around it, and a whole lot of tape. This is inadequate on anything, let alone something made of hooks and corners. It was sticking out most places.
I don't think sending them feedback would be useful though. I mean, it's in one piece, it's not visibly scratched, and it's very shiny so I'm keeping it. That means a win from their point of view, so, not likely to modify their behaviour.
I put the shiny thing on the door and it just about does what I wanted it to, with the hanging things up yet still being able to close the door without putting dents in the door frame. Only just about though, it is not optimal like I'd hoped, I might need new ways of hanging things if I persist with using it. Maybe the other design will work better in that location. There's another one meant to be along later. Still, improvement possible, only 17 years after moving in and getting in the habit of hanging things on doors.
