If that wasn't a rhetorical question, it was when several different writers decided that her defining concept should be "warrior" because Superman and Batman both refuse to deliberately kill and the DC Universe needed a big name figure who, in extreme circumstances, would, in order to contrast them.

the thing is as soon as she's using a sword it isn't 'in extreme circumstances'. a sword is a tool optimised for killing.

and I'm proper grump at limiting her like that anyways. warrior for peace was more complex last time I was reading.

About five years ago they started showing her with a sword all the time. It's ridiculous. It makes her more generic.
