Continuum season three

Continuum is really good
except for how as mentioned it doesn't know how to center women or make it about them
and how it has a bunch of ethnic diversity that mostly turns out to be evil and dead
... but the way it's really good is everyone's definition of evil just does a really complicated dance as the consequences start to play out, and the rules of time travel start to fill in. The lead's original goal is simply to get back to her family, but it goes all layered and things get complicated and then after a while you realise we've stopped having flashbacks to her personal past/future, and then we start getting flashbacks to another future entirely. And everyone changes.
It frustrates me immensely that they keep saying it's Kiera's choices that are key (they are just that unsubtle about her name) but the choices they mean are which man does she choose.
I want to recast at least half the characters, swap the actors around, so she's in a network of women, and not fade out the powerful women we do have, especially since it made so little sense to do so.
But I really like the plot.
I am not however spending time hanging out with the characters in my head between episodes. Probably wouldn't fic it. I like the politics and the clever but don't especially need to keep any particular person, which makes it feel more distant and more brain than feels.
But still cool to watch.
Now however I hit a stumbling block, because google suggests there's a season four, but it's not out on the UK. But I have the dvd player to cope if Amazon sells me the one that does exist. I'd rather the stupid company would just sell it proper though.
Good thinky stuff, with the usual caveats.
I've liked seeing what they're doing with their setup and I want to see how it ends.
