Graceling seemed to me to have a weird final battle that restated the problem rather than solved it, but only on an emotional level, so it did tidy up the plot as required.

And them it rounded off the book with a bunch of being weird about disability.

It was a slog to read, never kept my attention, didn't really be politics because magic, had way more kissing than I expected, and just weren't what I was looking for at all.

I'll send it to the charity shop and confidently expect it to find its reader there.

The sequel has an author's note in which she acknowledges she was weird about disability, apologises, and demonstrates that she understands better now. It's done very gracefully and is a model for other authors.
