I need a new plan
also to figure out where humans even social these days
also to remember to reply to comments because y'all can't tell I read them else.

like, online social is quieter than it used to be in most places I've been,
tumblr is an echo chamber made of little that is new and yet I can't follow more without spending all day on there sifting for new to me parts,
and it's a weird noisy quiet like looking for conversations in a big pub

but mostly rl social is just baffling, since I can't find things to join in with, and have no idea how humans social in this day and age.


do they just rely on having friends by now?
because that doesn't work when people go away.


I could do half a dozen different things on Thursday if I had a teleport and a time turner. so i can just do dancing. which has the benefit of having actual plural people in it, unlike the science fiction group.


i need a new plan that doesn't all happen on thursdays.

Since the science fiction group is just one other person, can't you ask him if it could be re-scheduled (and maybe moved to someplace more convenient for you) ? That would be impossible if there were 40 people but should be achievable with one.

science fiction group is the only thing that is not a Thursday. it's just also not much group.

Could you maybe do a social that involves you helping other people? Could you volunteer to play board games with the elderly or help at a kids' group or a food bank? Charity shop?

Wargaming or D&D? (That Warhammer shop on Westlegate might have a notice board)

Singing? Every sort of choir from skilled to community choir people who can't hold a tune but like having fun.

Amateur dramatics or operatics? They don't just need people who perform, but people to help with scenery, props, backstage.

Book reading group?

Walking group? They don't all go fast or long distances, there are lots of 'strolling' groups.

Birdwatching? Butterfly and dragonfly watching?

Train spotting? Plane spotting?

Any sort of horticultural club where there are talks or shows.

Any sports or games club.

Or there are the formal social clubs - The Lions Club, the Rotary Club etc.

these are useful suggestions including ones I had not considered before.

so today I found out that a lot of places do not put anything very useful on their website, or don't update it for five years, or both. meaning I'd have to physically go places to find out what they even are.

and still most of them are in the same timeslots my already things are, except the ones that are unclear on times at all at all.
