... hallucinations are a tempting explanation, but I'll continue to seek a plausible floorplan ...
I mean they have stairs but only the one set on the way out, so is it all one floor else? but some ceilings are super high and others aren't, so there could be space for more, in some bits of a very irregularly shaped ship.
