beccaelizabethWhy on earth would the tv go with Gypsy as a code name, when it's rude and the character has nothing in common with the DC comics hero of that name?
I mean I know it's a contested word but if a lot of people say rude then lo it is rude.
I've seen a lot of people chew this, I'll drop it for now.
I liked the vibe fight. Cisco is levelling up. And he quoted 'the first Wells' without freaking out about evil. I like that he wants to save Wells because they saved him, but, I do not like the idea the Wellses are even slightly interchangeable. I mean, that makes no sense. Distinct people.
HR having a crisis because he has a bazillion fans and awards and feels like he hasn't done anything worthwhile? I mean, there's two ways a writer can go with that, and one of them hates on writers while the other exalts them, so either way is weird. Like, obviously writing matters, and the Iris storyline is about how writing matters, so they're saying writing matters. But if they're making a thing of it, it's writers standing up saying writing matters. Which is weird.
Also, while I can feel those feels, he also has a bazillion fans and awards, so, you know, that's... not a position most of us are in.
So the episode weirdly both knocks writers and raises them up... but on the gripping hand has them both risking their lives for a story and putting other lives in danger in the process. So. Not cool.
Iris thinking she can't die early is ridiculous. They're trying to change the future, that way makes it easy. She isn't supposed to be stupid.
If it's flaily reaching for brave it makes more sense than actually believing it.
Barry comparing his improvement curve with Wally's and basically stepping aside for the new guy is cool, but this early in the season can only leas to going horribly wrong.
Julian as a Brit with no social skills... I know those feels. I believe he's trying. Wonder if he'll stay the joke or actually achieve.
