That was pretty good. Mel and Ace and the 7th Doctor in a historical with aliens, so there's something for them to do, fix the aliens, but still the sadness of history being already written, so they know how the war will go and have to leave it that way. Alien invaders that infect and twist everyone into monsters are a pretty good metaphor layer on a civil war, and fixing it with healing and getting along with outcasts is likewise fitting. Ace and Mel both got paired with someone to contrast with who they found stuff in common with. There's plenty of good character stuff to do. And their different approaches continue to make good story. Only thing I'd wish for is a few more women in the story. Ace being annoyed when the guy thinks women dont belong in war is a bit undermined when the only women there are these two tourists. Two women on the TARDIS is a good start, not a finish.
