Easter snakes
Feb. 12th, 2018 10:24 pmthat dream was entirely too energetic.
I dreamed the traditional easter egg contained a snake.
oh sure, poor people made do with chicken eggs and a dough twist looked like a cinnamon roll
but anyone who could afford it gave live snakes.
... having been poor people this made no sense to me, but, rich people, what can you do?
as a local tradition in England this hadn't been a problem, but in the US it developed into rattlesnake churches and testing their faith on getting bit.
then the Empire spread the custom to every corner of the globe
and everywhere it turned into a competition to get the brightest color snakes.
you know what snakes are really bright colors?
the ones that dont have to worry about being ate, on account of being eaters.
poison snakes for easter.
every easter.
and then a significant proportion of the world's endangered snakes got given away for easter presents and forgotten.
and the importation of exotic endangered species was of course illegal by international treaty
so they had to be smuggled in.
I dreamed a delivery of leather skirts/kilts/armour contained as well one leather bag full of snakes.
And then unpacking the nice clothes turned into chasing brightly colored snakes through a four dozen bed dormitory. one for adults who had no other space, so every bunk bed contained all your worldlies. so it was crowded, noisy, speaking many different languages, and the kind of poor that can look at a shipment of poison snakes and somehow think this is the jackpot, at least briefly.
I dreamed so much running and climbing and snakes.
so many snakes.
and in the dream what most bugged me was how few of them I could identify. I thought I was good at snakes. But i'd never seen a scarlet one with green sport lines before. Or a black one with flamey racing stripes.
Now I'm awake I'm wondering if more didnt happen in pastels.
Easter egg snakes. Bonus with delivery.
I woke up so tired...
