It's weird in HP fics when everyone is the same age in stories set after school.
Like, they're nearly thirty in this one and working in the ministry, and still everyone they work and socialise with was in their year at school.
Pretty sure that's weird.

I mean granted I do not work
but as I understand it there are many and varied people at work.

And if you go to a pub you do not tend to fill it with only people you already knew.

The wizarding world is so small, though. If there were only 5,000 people in London you'd probably see a lot of them at the pub!

exactly, so some of them should be different ages than Harry Potter

This could be straining at gnats and swallowing a camel but I couldn't believe that there would be enough fairly youthful witches and wizards to have a professional Quidditch league.
