I don't know how YouTube chooses things to show me but it is deeply, deeply weird.
I mean it still has that one video mum insisted I watch, sitting there for me to watch again if I want to
but it keeps forgetting my favourite songvids that I watch literally every time I turn YouTube on for months.
And today I started out listening to Prodigy and ended up in my teenage years in a very few clicks. And could not get out again. Which, you know, well guessed, very accurate, making me feel old and tired and a tiny bit lonely, but thanks, now go away... no, now... no...
*sigh*
Yes I could (and did) go back to the search and try again. But still.
... I still can't get any further forwards than university, and I graduated five years ago.
On the plus side I suddenly stumbled upon a seam of Flash vids with Harrison Wells. I've only watched one but there's at least a half dozen for later. How did it know? Are there Flash vids with other characters and it picked the right one somehow? I was watching Tony Stark, does YouTube consider them comparable?
... now I vaguely want to meta about similarities and differences.
And the thing is, I have music on this computer, somewhere, but I haven't listened to it for... well, as long as it has been on this computer, possibly some years on the previous one. Certainly at least since I got YouTube on the big TV, probably longer. And it's not like the TV has any bass or decent sound, let alone the average YouTube upload, and yet somehow my habits just... go there.
I haven't bought any new music for a long, long, time and I haven't had the radio tuned to a songs channel for longer.
Sometimes I wonder what happened to the past five years and don't come up with much of an answer.
Watched a lot of TV. Read some fanfic.
... really need a better answer than that.
... need to stop feeling down just because YouTube can guess my age...
