I really don't like some of my reccurring dreams.

Today I dreamt I was a Torchwood agent and I had to set up a quarantine on a station on the London Underground. You know what's an absolute nightmare to try and quarantine? A system designed to get people new places as quickly as possible, while funneling them all through the same tight, contaminated, spaces.

And nobody wants to be stuck behind the barrier when weird shit happens, and everyone thinks the best thing to do is get out and get clear of it, and if even one succeeded, bye bye London, and good luck Earth.

So the dream was just me, in a crowd, trying to get them to listen, and finally just slamming and locking the door myself, even though I'd had to push through them to get to it. But it was the only way to stop the people I knew had already bumped into me. And there they were in the queue, the students and the happy families, and there was me locking them in where the bad thing was, to prevent worse.

I hate that.

And yes I dream this repeatedly. Don't know why. Some days it's evacuations nobody listens to neither, but the quarantines are worse.

The more Torchwood bits of the dream had some interesting. Methos, for one. Lots of running around tunnels. Working with some tall bloke who was not Methos and who was angry and self important, but who was also one of the delegates representing Earth, so I kind of had to treat him as important too. But I was a delegate as well, and so was the person we were chasing. Nobody knew how the offworlders chose delegates, but there were several rules for transferring the delegacy. Unfortunately they were basically inheritance laws, since they all involved the delegate being dead. So another delegate wanted to transfer our votes and had set up an elaborate trap to do it.

When we finally tracked him down he was in the back of his car with the boot open and an open suitcause blocking our view. I was a touch more paranoid than the other delegate so when he pushed the suitcase lid to close it I yanked him out of the way, so he only got shot in the arm. But he remained incaustious and pulled the suitcase right out of the car next. Then we could see the delegate in the car, who appeared to be dead, having a big hole in his skull with a cable coming out of it. But this is Torchwood so you can't rely on things like that, even with a view of bits of a human you don't tend to see on a live person. There was some kind of contract revealed, that tried to work like terms of use, like 'if you can read this you've already agreed' kind of bollocks. It meant that if we died everything we owned would go to the dude with the cable in his head, but if we won we'd get everything of his. Which we apparently had. Which seemed like an odd plan.

But then there was dust falling from the ceiling, soft thin black dust, falling until there's a thick layer on things.

And somewhere in the fine print, if he kills us all now, whoever he designates gets all of our stuff. Votes included.

And then the aliens call in, to witness it all, which complicates hell out of everything.

Good thing about Methos being around though, at least one person down here is Immortal and unlikely to die of biohazard.

Don't know how it would all work out. My dreams are all middle. Very frustrating.

Also the alien voting system was less like a parliament and more like an occasional poll where our representative thoughts were somehow going to change how the universe treats us. Like, some people didn't even take it seriously, it's not like we got to go to an alien world or anything. But once you know how weird the world gets, Torchwood weird, you kind of have to take it serious, even if it turns out to be alien reality TV.

So that was a thing.

An earlier dream had me running around tunnels trying to avoid criminals, rebels, and the actual legal authorities, who all thought they were doing the Right Thing, but all kind of wanted me under their control. There was something about a guy who could do anything as long as one of his memes took off, like he was powered by the popularity of memes. And at one point I turned out to have telekinetic powers that could casually and smoothly move buildings around, like without breaking anything, just up and move them. But it just hadn't come up because how often would you even need to? So I just used it the once to reshape the tunnel system when there was too much between me and someone I needed to rescue. It was very Inception. Suprised everyone.

See I like the ones with the grand powers a lot better, but even with the powers it all seems to end up in deadlocked futility. Not awesome.

I should put some proper plots together and resolve them. Like playing a song to get it out of your head.
