Doctor Who Kerblam
Nov. 18th, 2018 11:01 pmseems odd having a story where management and The System that tags and monitors and listens to everything and won't let you socialise
are secretly the good guys
and the worker who wants more jobs for everyone is Wrong.
I mean nobody at any point had that conversation where automation makes work unneeded
or the other one about robophobia and enslaving emerging sentients
they just, like, blew up the robots
and left the bosses in charge
to fundamentally change the nature of the company by employing more people... which they somehow had the power to do but never got around to before?
also I just can't believe a worker blowing up customers for their own good
... I mean it's not like he has a customer service job...
and the so caring it called for help 'System' blew up a woman to give a man feelings?
when the Doctor was already on the case?
and the system could teleport?
I mean, the computer did an unforced murder
and then all the bots got blown up
but what was left?
I just don't see the point of that story
because it pointed out the jobs are unnecessary
and then ended by making more of them.
bit of a mess.
*double checks*
no, wait, she's 'going to propose' 'majority organics'. That's not power, she can propose and they'll say no.
So, odd, incoherent, if as the newspaper reviews seem to think it's a satire on current companies.
If it's just a bunch of stuff that happens then *shrugs*
