Now that was fun. And a proper 7th Doctor adventure.
Written by John Dorney, featuring 7, Ace and Mel
they arrive on a planet size parking lot and become entangled in the fight for Free Parking
as native tribes descended from those who couldn't find their ride
struggle to gain basic rights.
And that's just the start.
It splits up the three so they're each attached to one faction, the Parking Wardens, tribes and their free parking offshoots, and the native religion formed from scraps left by their ancestors as they seek their origins
ie where they left the spaceship.
It ends up with the mastermind behind it all being a sentient satnav, or starship self drive, that did it all to bring Galactic Heritage in (the ones who run the heritage planet the parking moon is for), and convert their ships to the cause.
Ace blows things up and makes good speeches at gunpoint, Mel makes the computers dance, and the Doctor saves the day in the end by asking for a really complicated route mapped, in the classic baffle the computer move.
It's got all the good stuff :-D
... except I guess a girlfriend for Ace, but the audios are not as good at that.
It's the proper sort of mad, with whole civilisations growing up in the bureaucracy's cracks
and the Doctor volunteering to help with the revolution
cause he's really good at that.
Definitely recommended, this one was fun.
