Computer query
Jun. 21st, 2019 05:19 amStargate SG1 in July 1997 reckoned their supercomputer could calculate two or three gate addresses a month.
How does a 2019 phone, tablet, or laptop compare to 1997 super computers?
I tried looking it up but hit my learning new words limit before I even tried any math.

Basically, a 2019 decent laptop is probably 10-100 times faster. A souped-up gaming system is 1000 times faster.
So if it took roughly 1 million seconds to calculate a gate address in 1997, a good gaming system in 2019 could do it in 1000 seconds = less than 17 minutes.
