Is weird reading a bunch of fic in a row
and realising all over again how very little of it resembles episodes.
like, stories we're drawing on? conflict! violence! scary things!
fanfic? little bit of that, looooooots of 'but what if coffee in peace'

and like, I'm reading werewolves right now, and it's clearly divided between people who are like, into the metaphor level and the struggling with violence and power and all
and the ones that are basically
what if boyfriend IS ALSO dog? giant puppy! win!

which is also cool.

but like, you can read a long way into a fic expecting it to be the one and it's oretty much the other
and then it's like
I don't know
this pie is actually an apple?

and I know I have it set to No Archive Warnings Apply, so some of the violence is hid
but I also filtered out the actually very popilar all human aus (why? why strip off the unique bits?)
and yet I think this very long fic that seemed to be about discovering neighbour werewolves in slightly different ways
is just going to be all high school dating angst.
which, you know, okay
and explains the High School AU tags on a fandom that is very much in high school
but
*puzzled blinking*



also I really need to find a fandom to read that involves actual adults.
i'm sure werewolves can be forty too.
... i think the urban fantasy books i have are really invested in that 'everyone looks twenty forever' teen hollywood aesthetic. not cool...

though I'm not actually complaining about what I'm reading cause I knew what these tags meant when I searched them
but still.

i'm just making me feel old half the time.
