It suffers from being after the tear your heart out ones but going all shallow again.
The Wire being all Hungry doesn't suck. Well, does suck, but in a theoretically reasonably creepy way.
It's weird equating face with personal identity, but okay.
I just hate the last minute so much I end up remembering it all as awful.
Abusive bastard gets kicked out, yaay! He was bad and said he would beat the boy. Even without sending people away for not looking right, there's that little speech about having fought fascists for freedom and then not letting anyone have any.
But then in the last minute Rose says to go after him cause he's your dad?
And the Doctor asks if there's no room for him.
I mean Rose has huge great issues where absence of father shaped her, but the Doctor ought to be able to spot a wrong un. ... aaaaaand might have very similar issues.
ugh.
I want to call it a doylist problem really. story doesn't seem to understand bad men should just go away and sort themselves out. it's not up to anyone they hurt to fix them.
bad man needs to understand what he did wrong, stop doing it, and make amends. learn better. and then maybe community can put up with him again, if they want.
just looking a bit lost because he's been told go away isn't amends.
is rubbish.
So, episode is fine, ending makes me very angry.
But I just watched that while I ate, having done shopping and dancing successfully :-)
Well, I realised after dancing when I was epic tired and felt unwell that I'd forgotten to actually eat today, but we made a new plan so I bought my apple pastries and ate one before starting shopping, so that worked better.
Dancing is difficult and I keep getting the timing wrong on turn left turn right and then being puzzled why I nearly bumping into people and ugh.
I mean no crunch so okay, but I dislike that dance.
I liked the start and end dances fine though, so that was okay.
Next week I must remember to eat even if I been asleep all day, because otherwise no fun.
Shopping was okay and I have salad and appropriate foods.
Morrisons is no good for Ribena any more though.
But Sainsburys tray food is pretty okay. So I had a vegan vegetable lasagne soon as I got home. Is good.
