Heroes in Crisis

Today I bought and read Heroes in Crisis
*notices time*
yesterday I bought it, and apparently reading it took me through one in the morning.

Taken as a stand alone, like fanfic, it is really, really good.
As things that happen to my friends in comic book universe, it makes me want to punch things.

So I don't really know what to do with that.

I haven't been reading comics for a really long time. Apparently some Stuff Happened.

This whole thing was about psychological consequences of being the people Stuff Happens to, and the angle it explores it does really well.

... I would hate that stuff to be what my favourites feel and went through though.

And I'm not at all sure about the ending?

I mean, it makes me want to step back and think politics. Context. That kind of stuff.



I keep circling back to
I wouldnt want the story to do any of this stuff
but it did it really, really well.


Especially the bits to camera. Those were insightful and sad.



The art was also outstanding.


I don't know.

I'm going to re read this one, slower and with more thinking.



But it both makes me want to know what's up with comics these days and makes me glad I can take a step back and see it as one facet of a multiverse.



... is it an elseworld thing or what?
... it kind of did A Lot.




For something I picked up because I'd seen artwirk with Beetle and Booster in it
this one is going to make me do Thinking
and have Feelings a lot.
