I can't find a rule to cure the zombie plague.
There are infectious zombies.
There are not medical approaches to healing them that I could find.
It's part of the whole Undead Are Always Awful approach that I, a long time vampire detective fan, am not exactly on board with.
And it goes along with having magic that can override choices? Like there's ways to just change someone's alignment from the outside, magic items and such, like boom, you're evil now.
Bard is kind of a mind control class. I keep poking it so it's more about psyching people up and knowing things, but a lot of core stuff is either emotion control or straight up mind control. I mean, I want to be able to make stirring speeches to rouse the populace to do good things, but I don't want it to be because magic.
There are just a lot of ways to have all choice taken away externally
and a LOT of ways of being Designated Evil
and I'm not finding the matching redemption rules.
Zombie stories are not fun to me because they're mostly about taking away any tool but violence and then doing a lot of violence. Like, I have heard people go What If and discuss ethics on zombie stories, but the What If is just, what if language and social skills no longer apply, what do you do?
And I strenuously disagree with the zombie movie answer.
So I want to go to fantasy worlds to make friends with dragons and build a lasting peace between peoples of very differing needs
but the rules want me to hit them all a lot, as far as I can see.
And I'm not keen on that.
So, that means I either need to read different rules
or a different rule system.
But I like the setup in this Pathfinder world
so much needs fixing
I just don't like all the ways it seems to be blocking fixing things off.
It seems like, in seeking to maximise plot hooks, the world set up looks at all these different species, this single planet spectrum of intelligences with such wide potential to explore the beauty of infinite diversity in infinite combination
and it's just
like
finding ways to be sure nobody gets along.
Bit boring.
I mean I know there's adventure to be had that way, but there's also adventure in trading and diplomacy.
I say that though, and then watch things mostly involving fight fight fight.
I should think up how to do the story the other way.
