Beebo wants cuddles
Aug. 11th, 2020 04:45 pmI just finished rewatching Legends of Tomorrow season 3.
That is a trip. There is nothing like it on tv. And it is really really fun.
... for a show that deals with grief and regret and second chances after doing the most terrible things, that takes a lot of work, yet they stick the landing.
It is hilarious.
And I love how they find hope, by giving people a choice where they didnt think they had one, and sharing the vulnerability and the things they learned from all the dark places.
I am not keen on the language of 'meant to be'. I have seen the argument that Mick was meant to wield the fire totem and that's why all the bad things happened. I reject that. Obviously there are writers, but in universe Snart died to make sure nobody is driving this bus, there is no meant to, there's just what happens. After everything he's been through, Mick can pick up the fire totem, and use it to make food. That's who he is and what he does. If somebody put him through all the other bad to get there then that somebody did evil. But if somebody found him, worked with him, and saw he could do better, which, oh yes, we saw happen, well. We get Mick Rory, arsonist and fire totem bearer.
That's what the story leads us to. All these people have been through so much that they learned how to take the next step, this time out of the darkness. And when they find somebody down a hole, well, they have been down there before, they know the way out.
So I love that about this show.
Also: Beebo.
Nobody saw that coming and yet, perfect.
... I need a big exploding blue heart icon.
... like, rarely, but. Hearts.
