Good Omens
Aug. 22nd, 2020 03:07 amI have finished watching Good Omens.
And the deleted scenes. And the Queen compilation. And the end with the nightingale singing again, because if you're going to relisten all the important music that's an important one.
I like it very well indeed.
It is so well crafted I can see how it is going to reward close analysis and rewatching. Lovely layers in everything.
I have also figured out why I'm not going to be dwelling on it forever. All the stories I get stuck on need me, or the characters I focus on do. If I don't write them a way out they'll be stuck with That forever. But these characters do not need me, because they have a perfectly satisfying ending that is also a very freeing beginning.
I love the end music. Start is the same, end is variations but only in style, until After. Same like things not being stuck turning to Queen right at the end. New. Different. A proper actual future now.
There were a couple bits I noticed different from the book but only one that made me frown. I can see how they made the story TV shaped. And I liked or loved all the new bits.
Aziraphale and Crowley have loved each other for a really long time now, that was very clear.
I am just going to sit and think about this show and grin a lot.
And maybe go back and watch the rest of the extras when it isnt three in the morning.
