Every time I think today is Quiet amd I shall Sleep then something new and niggly amd annoying starts making noises.
Like, I am glad that people have nice conversations that make them laugh etc, but do they have to have them outside my (closed) window? They're like inches away and Not Quiet and I am... whiny.

*sigh*

Also that dream the other day that made me think of being Supergirl's President Baker is such a good daydream it keeps eating other daydreams. So now time travelling replacement President Baker is in the long running saga with SG1, because it would take a President to declassify everything and get interesting projects going on empty worlds.

The existence of teleportation technology ought to make many days go differently, including Damian Dark's big plans. But Dark wouldnt need to go around killing everybody if he just got shipped out to an empty planet of his very own. Sure it seems like a bad incentive for others, but since prison and a good being killed didnt stop him a new plan is required. Space Australia is one such plan. And if people want to follow him, let them. Fewer annoying people left.

The communications technologies that just let hologram people wander around wherever they want to go would also be a world changer. I mean no one would have to physically go on patrol ever again, you could send entirely unarmed unarmoured nice people whose only weapon was yelling for help, because they would never be in danger on account of not being there. Just lights. Very safe.

Stargate as science fiction is so frustrating, because they so seldom actually use things later.

Lex Luthor would be different in a world with an actual Stargate program, but how exactly would be a lot of Story. It is possible he'd still only care about Superman. It is possible he'd still only believe things he had figured out. But the more world around all that the sadder that looks.

The ethics of time travellers going around replacing people just does not work out. Necause you'd do it before those people did the damage, and then just take over their lives and legacies. But it would be terribly useful.

I mean after Nash you can kind of understand replacing Wells. Mean, but practical.

Replacing someone to go and be President as them would wind people up even more than a shapeshifter for President, once people figured out what happened.

They'd wonder who else got replaced by time travellers, and realise the answer could be everyone.

Hell with one sufficiently dedicated traveller using that whatsit Eobard owned then everyone could be replaced by the same person. They'd never get around to dying if they kept rebuilding their body as someone new instead.

... one of the Arrowverse presidents was referred to as codename Traveller, yesno?

... hmm.

ANYway, this is rambly and the conversation has gone away again.

President Baker fixing everything because time traveller: excellent daydream, makes a wishlist, gets it done.

... the idea of one time traveler turning out to be everyone important in history in an assortment of hats, also now kind of getting my attention...
