beccaelizabethToday I finally made my new printer work
so I printed out a version of the Deck of Many Things, to see how the color prints.
... the Deck of Many Things very probably does not work, but so it goes.
I keep wanting to buy one of the Decks available, but I cant find one to buy that matches the one on the wizards site. There are some lovely ones on etsy, but I havent bought via etsy before. And there's the thing where spending £18 to £23 on a deck of game cards with one very specific purpose that isn't going to come up very much might seem like a Lot.
... but they are very shiny.
... some of them have gold edges...
Maybe I can design some with clip art or something.
Yesterday I finished reading Bujold's "The Spirit Ring". It was okay, but I missed the theological depth and discussion of the world of the five gods, and I am not a big fan of teenage protagonists any more. Also, one main character's magical talent was Finding Things, which meant he kept walking straight into the plot, which on the one ha d seemed handy, but on the other made a weird amount of the story happen to him on accident. Wasn't sure I liked that.
Basically that adds up to Later work was better
which one always hopes to achieve.
Next I'm thinking I'll read some Diane Duane.
... but that makes me remember how many ebooks I've got around here somewhere and I still havent made the ereader go...
still, paper books will take a while to reread too.
