beccaelizabethI keep bouncing off of reading one particular Pathfinder adventure and it keeps being for new irritating reasons.
Like, today, they are introducing a whole new area of the world, where everyone is Evil and from an Evil Race, so right there I am annoyed.
But more irritating is they all have Evil Names. Which in practice means they're four or five syllables long and sound vaguely foreign. Except for Dolour. And they dont seem to have picked a consistent way to be vaguely foreign either. Like it would be bad if they picked one country to make sound Evil but instead they're linguistically incoherent and it is annoying me.
I think I might just be irritable today.
Also there were fireworks off and on since sunset and may well be more later.
Funny how those things go together.
I am annoyed lately because there's lots of things to do but there's nothing to do. I can read or watch whatever I want, but it has been A While since the world outside was, you know, functional. The Covid map is Very at the moment and ugh ugh ugh.
I should try being creative, actually writing down a story, something like that
but all the ones I think of at the moment go
a) get transported to a magical world / a different time / your favorite TV show
b) go oh wow and start thinking of all the Amazing Possibilities
c) realise you need to quarantine because a pandemic is considerably more lethal than anything canon ever did to anyone (since fictional apocalypses are almost always averted)
d) ugh ugh get reality out of my daydream
e) reboot brain and start from (a)
Which is getting tedious.
Also imagining I get transported into my fav TV shows and
imagining I get transported into my fav TV shows *with my DVD collections*
are two distinct sorts of story.
Realising the usual way I daydream it is to live the nerd dream of Knowing More Than Everyone
is just not a good look.
(They would have to Ask Me Things! And Listen to Me! And I could not even be graded for they would not have the answers, mwah ha ha haaaaa!!!)
If I bring my DVDs then everyone will know as much as I do fairly swiftly
and feel very weird about it
but still not react the same ways I would, because story people never do.
So I could just throw story me at actual new challenges and avoid the frustration.
I've been inventing enough RPG characters lately that I am having trouble coming up with enough names. So there's a lot of Story Mes to go around.
But not, thus far, much story.
Ah well.
