BFA Torchwood 56 The Red List

beccaelizabethThis audio is about Ace and Mr Colchester being stuck in a quarantine hotel in the middle of an alien invasion. On the back of the CD it says that, and asks
"Can they save the world without leaving their rooms?"
Which would be a good trick and I was looking forwards to how they managed it. Two important well connected people with two important well connected organisations, Torchwood and A Charitable Earth, maybe they'd do remote working or something, have drama because they're at cross purposes.
But no.
It's another story about breaking out of quarantine.
*big sigh*
I like literally everything else about it. The characters are great, the use of the alienating isolation of being in a hotel, let alone in quarantine, the way it builds up the clues.
It's just, even though it has the characters complain out loud about people who wont cooperate with masks and quarantines, they end up being people that dont cooperate with quarantines, and that saves the world.
Which is, well, not optimal, I feel.
But on the bright side they did end the story with a potentially disturbing degree of existential questions about who they really are, if they've been brainwashed, and if they just did the aliens plan for them, so that's always fun.
So I liked the story, except for that one thing, but I wanted to hear the story on the back of the box.
