Today's reading didnt suit me.
It was an alternate universe that kind of boiled down to
what if the bad guy was right
aliens really are all hostile
and the only way is to kill them all.

... No.
Just, that's... not right, not useful, not a valuable story.
Not something I want to read.

It's kind of like the entire genre of zombie stories
that exist to say
like
what if
every habit and technique of civilisation
and way of being human together
and possibility for change
just stopped working.
What if the only thing left was mass murder
and then make a movie about it.

And it's wrong.
We are people.
We can communicate instead.

So I refuse the basic premise of the thing I spent today reading.




Also it said it was / and while that does indeed do a lot of the emotional driving it's not like they sort anything out or actually get together in the story
and I feel like it was not the genre it said on the tin
but it was, just, not as expected.


So, not great reading today.
