That's a deeply depressing story
especially at the end. she hugs him, there's a nasty cracking sound, and then he's dead. eeew.
I looked up notes about the book and the ending wasn't quite the same. They made it more her bad in the TV thing, I think.
I don't know if its a problem with the story or the adaptation or the actress, but I have to say, breathless hysteria gets really, really boring after two solid hours of it. Start small and build. If you start big you've nowhere to go with it. Same problem with Angel's attitude in The Girl in Question, too monotone. (I think. I dislike it intensely and haven't rewatched, except the Andrew bits)
