Jul. 16th, 2022 05:13 pmToday searching etsy found two different sets of Unexpected Yikes
in addition to the usual 'that price cannot be real money' shenanigans:
search for 'magic ring'
get offered
ritual deals with the devil for wealth, costing tens of thousands of pounds.
... I feel like the devil would probably not paywall the whole damnation thing
and also
expecting to shift such a deal at that price would only make sense if it works...
demon themed pyramid schemes for the lose.
so that was 'oh dear' on a theological level.
But then
having seen pretty celtic knotwork rings
I tried searching for
wizard's knot.
... I have read enough dodgy fanfic the results retrospectively do not surprise me
but...
*blinks a lot*
There are some very pretty things on etsy but I'm getting annoyed finding things I'm pretty near certain do not physically exist. Yes it's a nice design, but what does it look like printed? Also, have they tried wearing it? does it get caught on everything? will it wear flat in a year? these and other important questions etsy listings never speak of.
And then there's an assortment of listings
where someone bought a cheap bag of charms
and then listed them singly with some different search keywords.
Yes it clearly worked, I found them looking with very specific fandom words and they do indeed fit that keyword, but the markup for clever marketing seems excessive.
Ah well.
Should think of something better to do anyway.
