Jan. 2nd, 2023 02:44 pmI finished the big proofread I was doing.
It's still frustrating because like half of it needs a rewrite.
But the other half basically doesn't?
I think I need to consider the Pathfinder rules more of a jumping off point than an exact math, because the fights drag on rather if I have to hit things enough. But I can still use the tricks I was planning to use.
I made one guy too evil but I think I can see how to pull it back. Rearrange the sequence of a conversation, have his actions be triggered by specific lines that are indeed an problem, should fix it a bit.
I need to find different and distinctive ways to refer to the items they're juggling around in the main hall, because I wrote the thing and I've still lost track of how many of what things we're talking about.
And I need to go through two scenes kind of side by side, and make sure every setup has a payoff, or every payoff a setup. Then edit out the rest, unramble some bits.
But this is all fixable.
So I feel like I'm making progress.
Still dont know if I'll show it to anybody when it's done.
Kind of feel like I need to write the prequels first. This module is like a three series crossover and I know what all of them were doing on their different adventure paths, so it's a bit heavy on the backstory. Don't know if the reader needs it though.
... still feel like what it mostly needs is to lose half the characters. They keep on going silent and therefor invisible to the reader, and a group this size is just not sensible to have in a fight scene anyways.
Ah well.
