and some days I cant get to sleep because my attempted daydream turned into wondering what Fantasy OSHA would need to start from, what Health and Safety measures you'd even do in a world with magic, and whether any of the already listed gods of the setting would probably have that in hand already.
I mean if they had food inspectors there are some plots that def wouldn't have been able to happen, and that would be a vast improvement,
but if you moved there would you want to take entire existing structures of health and safety law and standardisations from around here,
or would you need to start with Golarion specific measures?
All this probably because I saw a little video on tumblr that was like
Moria Needs Handrails
and now my brain keeps spinning its hampster wheels on the topic I know next to nothing about.
ALSO though
I was wondering how exchange rates even work
and if their god of banking could plug in to our banking system to transfer savings across?
Because you get a very different amount of money per $ if you start with the gold price here and work out gp from lbs of gold affordable on Earth
or if you start from how much salt a $ could buy and then how many gp it would be worth according to the Trade Goods table.
If you had a portal and could swap salt for gold back and forth you would make stupendous money both ways.
So how would it work to just move money from one bank to the other?
Exchange rates would have to be symmetrical and consistent, right?
Probably the god of banks would figure out what is Fair and stick with that.
Or, obviously, not be impressed with electric banking and only count your actual gold.
Pathfinder rules have wealth by level, so unless you arrive as a high level character you just arent going to have unusual wealth.
GURPS rules have a lot more flex on the wealth front, both as a one off investment and as an ongoing quality of your character. Also more chances to have stable portals and a stable import export business between habitable worlds and or dimensions.
... I just found a story via reddit about a GM who gave his players a portal to the elemental plan of salt and did not anticipate what they would do with it... that's going to be good reading...
