Doctor Who Secret History

I listened to Doctor Who, The Secret History
which has the setup that 5 got swapped in to a 1 story.
I did not remember it and now I'm... thinking it might have worked better if I listened to the two immediately before it? It felt like a lot of running around for the Quintus plot. And also that it could have felt like he had more of a point if any of 5s companions ciuld have an argument with him about the saving people changing things bit. I guess I didnt really have existing feels about Vicki and Steven... I just had to look up their names spellings... so they felt like OCs and I dont know if the story would feel richer if I knew more. There's a lot of DW to know.
... and only a few days until it's all on the iplayer... :-)
I listened to the Short Trip included after it. I'm not sold on Short Trips, I dont tend to buy them, they're more like audio books and I like the fully acted adventures. It's not that they're bad, I just keep trying to do other things at the same time and it dont quite work.
Not a day that really clicked for me.
