The third in the Ianthology by Gareth David Lloyd, this one is about Ianto and his dad.
It's a strong story. Part of me wants to reject the plausibility because it's like the nightmare scenario, but, that is part of how it kicks you in the feels. And you spend most of the story not knowing 'Disco's' name and wondering why that's built up to be a big deal, but then when it lands, boom, it definitely hits.
It's a time travel story that gives us a new layer of how to interpret Ianto and his... difficult to make consistent background. One possibility by the end of this one? Time traveller Ianto remembers bits of more than one timeline, having given his own personal past a kick in multiple directions.
Another is he lies from a different kind of shame than we could have guessed, because however his dad's life turned out, whatever the details were before and after, by the time Ianto was at Torchwood 3? His dad's life was because of Ianto's choices.
Nightmare.
Going to rate this one 5/5, but it isnt exactly uplifting to listen to, so I may not relisten as much.
