Sep. 22nd, 2024 04:35 pmToday has been useful and productive. Did the Sunday tasks, did one load of laundry, a second is in the machine now. The first one is theoretically dry but I'm not quite sure of it. I hung up the trousers with the big tall waistband so to be sure the complicated elastic bits are dry too. Might dewrinkle a tiny bit too.
Laundry wasn't optional cause it turns out the blanket box was empty. That's a few weeks of forgetting to do sheets. But the laundry pile as a whole wasn't out of control.
Also I ate a nice plant based lasagne from the freezer, which I keep forgetting are there, I should rearrange that drawer so they don't hide.
I saw a couple of new pictures in the John Barrowman tag on tumblr so I googled for more and found some news headlines... I hope he's doing okay lately.
I also found some pictures of fabulous TARDIS dresses and capes, which is what I was looking for.
(I cannot recommend the tumblr tag unless you want to report a bunch of spam. Usually naked ladies spam. Those do not belong on that tag.)
I feel like laundry day should get more reading done, but I also feel like something beeps or needs changing whenever I decide what to read, and listening stories would miss the beeps.
I bounced off down internet clicks to look up the counting system Yan Tan Tethera comes from, and the wiki has a whole page of variations. The one I feel like I read before is from Lincolnshire but apparently sheep counting doesn't just have its own numbers it has dozens of different own numbers. And they all descend from Brythonic languages and have somewhat in common with Welsh numbers now, but Welsh sometimes uses twenties like the celtic sheep words and sometimes uses tens because someone decided to modernise.
There's an entire thought tree about multiple layers of conquest and the everyday work of sheep, just from Yan Tan Tethera.
I am not having a concentrating in straight lines day.
But I do have clean laundry.
Win.
