beccaelizabethI may maybe have played too much Wrath of the Righteous again today.
Woke up to do Cleaner Day tasks, decided to do a bit of game in the afternoon at around 1pm, and it is 0500 now.
I did eat. I was levelling up characters at the time but I did eat.
At around midnight I had the characters the way I wanted them and good cooking bonuses and decided to try the big set piece fight that had kicked my ass a level ago. Just try it, it's a very rough fight.
... five hours later...
The secret turned out to be swapping my characters for a set with more magic, using Burning Entanglement and a lot of Firestorm, using the biggest earth elementals I could get hold of as walls to hide behind, and doing whatever sonic or ranged touch damage I could to the big guy with the ridiculous AC and hit points.
Also it helped that I remembered Daeran had 8th level spells now if I just turned the page, sort of thing. ... so embarrass when I figured that one...
I remain certain there's a better and more elegant solution. I brought Nenio but for the vast majority of the fight she was slightly dead and I couldn't find her to Raise under all the other corpses. But her Phantom Web was grand when I did get her back up.
Also Ember's Sleep hex stays good. It's ridiculously effective, actually, its always worth trying if the enemies are in reasonable numbers. I'd have used it more but she was the one with Firestorm. I hate bringing Ember into battle but I had tried sending my usual more martial party and they couldn't lay a claw on the big guy, so.
I'm sure reality happened today also but I didn't do so great at noticing.
... once again, going to have to take a day off the xbox.
