beccaelizabethToday I accidentally spent all afternoon designing a character on Inevitable Excess.
I just sat down to see if something worked the way I thought and look at some feats while I waited for the shopping.
Then I tried making a new Legend and the build just didn't work in that order, or possibly at all.
So I started again.
One entire afternoon later I built something happy making
and pretty much exactly the same as the game I erased last weekend
because by the time you are Oracle Enlightened Philosopher 20 / Arcanist White Mage 11 / Mystic Theurge 9
there are So Many Spells
and then you add metamagic
and
ugh
control bar no worky that way.
20 levels of Enlightened Philosopher makes for a neat final Revelation
but does not combine ideally with the Mythic path that gives you a second Mystery
because Enlightened Philosopher just, like, overrides most of your Mystery except the Revelations anyways.
Also Mystic Theurge flavor text says you can still cast Spell Synthesis style, two spells together, but actually no, no you cannot, this computer game doesn't have that, so there seems no point to MT10. Also if you go 9 your Oracle doesn't get anything out of it, since CL is capped at 28. And you don't get extra spell levels like in Epic in the core rulebook. So Legend is somewhat poorly implemented imho.
All of which I suspect I have noted before
but this time I discovered some combos that can technically be MT but I didn't likes it.
The internet suggests building both classes on the same stat, which is logical, but I also found none people noticing that Enlightened Philisopher's +5 inherent bonus to INT makes for a nifty combo with any INT casting class.
I've been looking up skill check DCs as per reddit and apparently they go to 50 for many things and 80 for opposed Persuasion checks. So having +40 in skill ranks isn't a guarantee yet. But it's getting close.
Any check that is in reach for someone with 'only' 20 levels is really very likely to be passed by a Legend.
Somehow less fun than knowing the dice can take it all.
ANYway.
Shopping arrived long ago, at least the parts Sainsburys deigned to send, and I was going to take a day off from the game, so I guess I shall find something else to do.
